Believers in Christ Jesus hear certain verses of Scripture singled out that almost becomes a cliche over time. One in particular is “From Faith to Faith.” This article is set out to give contextual discernment.

Its a verse found in Romans 1:17 and most certainly deals with those who believe in Christ for salvation through the gospel.

Verse 16 of Romans 1 states that the Apostle Paul is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the “Power” of God unto salvation.

Simply put, God has placed all authority and “Power” within His Son Jesus. So much so, that salvation is granted unto all who believe in the Gospel of Christ. When the simplicity of the gospel is believed, faith is the byproduct of ones belief.

Made more simple:
When someone is telling you something about themselves, normally you believe that what they are saying is true. Some people exaggerate to the degree of lying. It is hard to develop a trust with that person. Well I promise you that it is impossible for God to lie.

And without exaggeration, God trusted in His Son Jesus to be the savior of those who believe way before we heard of Jesus and the good news of the gospel.

Ephesians 1:12King James Version (KJV)
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

 Some skeptics would oppose this line of teaching because it points to God having a byproduct of faith from that very same trust. So then let it be known that the first to have faith in Christ was also His Father.

Hebrews 3:2King James Version (KJV)
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

Other skeptics would suggest this is just more word smithing, but lets make room for interjection.

1 Corinthians 1:9King James Version (KJV)
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

One might say “I don’t need Jesus or God.” In such cases it is perfectly legitimate biblically to note that in the New Testament, God now considers every spirit to be uncircumcised. Regardless if our flesh is circumcised or not, less the operation of God is performed in your heart, ye are spiritually unclean and have not God and are worthy of His wrath.

Romans 2:5King James Version (KJV)
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Knowing that all are guilty before God and that Christ died for the ungodly, what hinders the unbeliever (jew or non-jew) from being reconciled unto God through the body of Christ at the cross? For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty and let everyone who nameth the name of Christ as there risen Lord depart from false teachings.

2 Corinthians 5:19King James Version (KJV)
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Ephesians 2King James Version (KJV)
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

let it be according to your faith, that ye may have the same faith that God has when He first trusted in Christ, that is, that ye may trust with a full heart of assurance in what God has done for US in Christ, Amen
